Postpartum & Newborn Services

What Does a Postpartum Doula Do?

Her main objective is to make sure you, the new mother get plenty of rest, have time to heal and begin feeling comfortable caring for your new baby. From there, it’s dependent on what you and your family needs

What are the Benefits of Having a Postpartum Doula?

Many new moms feel overwhelmed and anxious once they arrive home with their bundle of joy – and this is NORMAL. A postpartum doula provides the new mother (and father) comfort and support during the first few weeks after the baby’s arrival.

Learning to care for your new baby can leave you feeling exhausted, again a normal. Having a postpartum doula at your side assures you the help you need as you heal, rest, and bond with your new baby.  A doula can ease you through this transition period helping you gain confidence in your skills as a mommy.

Typical Areas a Postpartum Doula can help:

  • Breastfeeding support
  • Bottle preparation
  • Soothing techniques
  • Baby basics … bathing, burping, diapering and dressing
  • Preparing meals
  • Baby’s laundry
  • Run errands
  • Set up changing table/diapering areas
  • Restock items as needed

What is a Newborn Specialist?
